On Tuesday, 12 March 2013, in the evening at 20:40, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street near No. 22, a Ford Galaxy hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Ford (25 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
