On Saturday, 30 March 2013, at night at 3:55, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Širvintos–Šešuoliai–Miegučiai regional road (kilometre 2.60), a Skoda Octavia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Skoda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.52‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was a blizzard, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
