BMW and Opel crash on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai road
On Monday, 22 April 2013, in the morning at around 7:00, in Radviliškio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 44.70), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 318 and an Opel Astra. One person was injured — the 23-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the BMW (35 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
