On Sunday, 28 April 2013, in the afternoon at 13:50, in Panevėžys, on Klaipėdos street, at the junction with P. Eimučio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to obey traffic-control signals. He was drunk (2.14‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
