On Friday, 3 May 2013, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kaunas, on Kęstučio street near No. 15, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Lexus ES 300 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Lexus (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
