On Tuesday, 7 May 2013, at night at 23:34, in Vilnius, on Kalvarijų street near No. 166A, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320, a Volkswagen Sharan and an Audi A3. Three people were injured — the 29-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient), a 25-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient) and a 21-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
