On Sunday, 12 May 2013, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Lazdijų district municipality, on Ateities street near No. 3, a collision occurred. The collision involved a moped and a Mercedes-Benz 190. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of a moped, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.22‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
