On Wednesday, 15 May 2013, in the evening at 17:36, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 174.29), an Audi 100 rolled over. Three people were injured — the 17-year-old driver of the Audi (hospitalized), a 16-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.41‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
