On Wednesday, 15 May 2013, in the evening at 19:20, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 170), a Nissan Sunny rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.12‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
