On Saturday, 25 May 2013, in the evening at 21:39, in Skuodo district municipality, Gintalaičių village, on the Mažeikiai–Skuodas national road (kilometre 37), a Vauxhall Vectra registered in Great Britain rolled over. Two people were injured — the 37-year-old driver of the Vauxhall (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 14-year-old passenger of the Vauxhall (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Vauxhall, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
