On Sunday, 2 June 2013, at night at 3:30, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 22.50), an Opel Astra rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.57‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
