On Saturday, 15 June 2013, in the morning at 10:45, in Šilalės district municipality, Gedminiškės village, on the Kryžkalnis–Rietavas–Vėžaičiai national road (kilometre 20.25), a Volkswagen Passat rolled over. Five people were injured — a 20-year-old passenger of a Setra S 315 (hospitalized), a 79-year-old passenger of the Setra (hospitalized), a 71-year-old passenger of the Setra (hospitalized), a 34-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient) and a 63-year-old passenger of the Setra (hospitalized). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
