Drunk Volkswagen Golf driver runs off the road on the Vievis–Aukštadvaris road
On Saturday, 6 July 2013, in the afternoon at 15:36, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vievis–Aukštadvaris national road (kilometre 30.89), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. Three people were injured — the 18-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized), a 22-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 21-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (severely injured, hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.42‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
