On Friday, 12 July 2013, in the afternoon at 13:28, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 73), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania P 94 DB and a Fiat Scudo. Three people were injured — the 39-year-old driver of the Fiat (treated as an outpatient), a 34-year-old passenger of the Fiat (treated as an outpatient) and a 11-year-old passenger of the Fiat (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Scania (17 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
