On Monday, 29 July 2013, in the morning at 6:30, in Utenos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 83.95), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Chrysler Stratus and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Chrysler, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
