On Friday, 9 August 2013, at night at 0:50, in Kaunas, on P. Lukšio street, at the junction with S. Žukausko street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V40 and a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Three people were injured — the 38-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient), the 40-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient) and a 49-year-old passenger of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Volvo (2 years of driving experience), who failed to obey traffic-control signals. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
