On Sunday, 18 August 2013, in the afternoon at 14:15, in Kaunas, on Žemaičių pl. near No. 36A, a Mercedes-Benz C 200 CDI hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.16‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
