On Saturday, 14 September 2013, at night at 1:02, in Šalčininkų district municipality, Jašiūnų town, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 27), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 100 and a Citroen Xsara. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.05‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
