On Wednesday, 14 August 2013, in the afternoon at 16:20, in Utenos district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 45.50), at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz 190 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
