On Thursday, 24 October 2013, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Minskas main road (kilometre 33), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a DAF FT XF105 registered in Russia, an Iveco Stralis registered in Belarus and a semi-trailer. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the DAF (a citizen of Belarus) (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
