On Monday, 4 November 2013, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kaunas, on Kęstučio street, at the junction with A. Mickevičiaus street, an Opel Astra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 71-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by a 71-year-old pedestrian, who committed sudden emergence from behind a vehicle, tree, etc.. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
