On Wednesday, 30 October 2013, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 D and an Opel Vectra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
