On Thursday, 21 November 2013, at night at 0:46, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 32.71), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Mercedes-Benz 312. Seven people were injured — a 49-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 22-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 53-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 19-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 41-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized), a 32-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient) and a 53-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.04‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
