On Friday, 22 November 2013, in the afternoon at 16:15, in Ukmergės district municipality, Paąžuolių village, on the Ukmergė–Raguva–Nemėžis national road (kilometre 13.44), a head-on collision occurred. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (27 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
