On Sunday, 8 December 2013, in the morning at 6:22, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 35), a BMW 320 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.25‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
