On Thursday, 2 January 2014, in the evening at around 21:00, in Alytaus district municipality, Angininkų village, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 21.95), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a horse-drawn cart and an Audi 80 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 49-year-old cart driver, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
