On Sunday, 12 January 2014, in the afternoon at 15:59, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Juknaičiai–Sausgalviai–Tatamiškiai regional road (kilometre 1.30), a Hyundai Accent hit an obstacle. Two people died — the 19-year-old driver of the Hyundai and a 43-year-old passenger of the Hyundai. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Hyundai (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
