On Friday, 17 January 2014, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kaunas, on Pakraščio street near No. 22, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the Ford (36 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
