On Monday, 27 January 2014, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, Norvydų village, on the Žirgėnai–Pavištytis–Kregždžiai regional road (kilometre 6.40), an Opel Astra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Opel (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
