On Saturday, 1 February 2014, in the afternoon at 12:26, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Kuršėnai–Gilvyčiai–Sauginiai regional road (kilometre 22.70), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320 and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the BMW (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
