On Friday, 7 February 2014, in the afternoon at 16:45, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 36), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Honda Civic and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Honda, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.27‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
