On Tuesday, 11 February 2014, in the evening at 18:07, in Palanga, on Klaipėdos pl. near No. 35, a Toyota Land Cruiser hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 58-year-old pedestrian, who was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. He was drunk (2.03‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
