On Sunday, 23 February 2014, in the evening at 18:30, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 29.12), a BMW 320 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
