On Sunday, 23 February 2014, in the evening at 19:25, in Druskininkų municipality, on Veisiejų g., at the junction with Palangos g., a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (32 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.63‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
