On Sunday, 16 February 2014, in the evening at 18:18, in Birštono municipality, Birštono farmstead, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 89.25), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Laguna and an Opel Vectra. Two people were injured — a 48-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and a 39-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt).
