On Friday, 7 March 2014, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Šilutės district municipality, Šturmų village, on the Priekulė–Sakūčiai–Ventė regional road (kilometre 26), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Ford Focus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Opel (17 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
