On Sunday, 9 March 2014, at night at around 1:00, in Šakių district municipality, Girėnų village, on Rožių street near No. 5, a Honda Civic hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Honda (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
