On Tuesday, 11 March 2014, in the afternoon at 15:39, in Šakių district municipality, Gerdžiūnų village, on Liepų street near No. 4, a Nissan X-Trail hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Nissan (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.12‰ blood alcohol).
