On Monday, 24 March 2014, in the evening at 22:49, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Maišiagala–Širvintos regional road (kilometre 16.20), a Fiat 500L rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Fiat, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
