On Sunday, 6 April 2014, at night at around 2:00, in Utenos district municipality, on the Kariūnai–Duokiškis–Vilučiai–Kušliai regional road (kilometre 12.90), an Audi 80 rolled over. Two people were injured — a 17-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.69‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
