On Sunday, 13 April 2014, in the evening at 19:40, in Druskininkų municipality, on the Druskininkai–Leipalingis–Seirijai national road (kilometre 11.04), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant and a Chrysler Voyager. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Audi (4 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
