On Monday, 17 March 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 55), a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Krone SDP27 and a Mazda 6. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Krone (33 years of driving experience), who violated cargo-transport rules. Both drivers were sober.
