On Thursday, 1 May 2014, in the evening at 19:23, in Telšių district municipality, on the Privažiuojamasis kelias prie Germanto ež regional road (kilometre 1.13), a Ford Mondeo ran off the road. One person died — the 17-year-old driver of the Ford. Four people were injured — a 16-year-old passenger of the Ford (severely injured, hospitalized), a 16-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized), a 16-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
