On Sunday, 11 May 2014, in the morning at 9:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 129), on a bridge, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 Avant and a Renault Megane Scenic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Audi (14 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.98‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
