On Saturday, 10 May 2014, in the afternoon at 15:47, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius-Švenčionys-Zarasai national road (kilometre 37), a Renault Laguna ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of a Peugeot 605 (8 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules and failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
