On Sunday, 18 May 2014, in the morning at 6:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 112.70), a Toyota Avensis registered in Poland hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Toyota (a citizen of Poland) (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
