On Sunday, 18 May 2014, in the evening at 19:30, in Alytus, on Naujoji street near No. 18, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a Mazda 626 and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Mazda, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
