On Thursday, 22 May 2014, in the evening at 22:45, in Šilalės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 229.95), a Nissan Qashqai hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Nissan (20 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober.
