On Sunday, 25 May 2014, in the evening at 22:38, in Širvintų district municipality, on Vilniaus street near No. 59, a collision occurred. The collision involved a Honda Accord, a Skoda Octavia, a Volkswagen Passat and a Skoda Octavia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Honda, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.83‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
