On Sunday, 8 June 2014, in the evening at 21:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Kiokių village, on the local road, a Renault 19 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 4-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Renault, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.49‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
